FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. Is the Advanced Drama program a class or an after school activity?
Answer: The Advanced Drama program is a class at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy. This will be your fine arts class for the entire school year.
2. Are there after school rehearsals?
Answer: Yes, there will be some after school rehearsals. For example, the week or two before major performances you will be asked to stay after school to rehearse. You will be given a calendar in ahead of time that lists all of the mandatory rehearsals for the year.
3. If I am not selected for Advanced Drama, can I still be in your general theater class?
Answer: YES! Please!
4. Can I audition for both Advanced Drama and Advanced Chorus?
Answer: Yes, you may audition for both of the Advanced classes. But, you may only take one.
5. Do I have to be in the musical if I am in the Advanced Drama class?
Answer: Yes, all students in the Advanced Drama class will participate in the musical.
6. Is this class a musical theatre class?
Answer: Not exactly. The school musical is one of main events. There are several performances we will do throughout the school year! For example, we perform a Dessert Theater play, skits, and much more!
7. Do I need to be a good singer to be in this class?
Answer: Not exactly. We are looking for enthusiastic and well rounded performers who are willing to be creative!
8. Are there any fees with this class?
Answer: Yes. There is a suggested class fee to cover necessary costs such as scripts, costumes, transportation, meals before performances, etc. Fundraising is available to cover this donation of a class fee. Junior Theater Festival will also have an additional fee. We would love for everyone to participate and not let finances be a deterrent. We are here to help, so please ask!
